The SUFP Foundation is happy to announce, LA County and surrounding area residents can now report dogfighting tips at 1-877-777-2585 and can submit tips via email through standupforpits.us by clicking the REPORT DOG FIGHTING HERE button on the home page. Any and all information goes DIRECTLY to investigators NOT to the SUFP Foundation. The information you provide investigators will be private and confidential and could qualify you for a reward of up to $5000 if that information leads to the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in dogfighting which will be paid for by the @humanesociety. For people with information about dogfighting not in the Los Angeles area call 1-877-TIP-HSUS which is the national tip line. ONLY use the LA County number if you have information DIRECTLY related to dogfighting. All other animal related issues call your local animal control. You can find you local animal control by going to GOOGLE, typing in your city name and the words “Animal Control” or contact your local law enforcement. Please take a moment to program all these numbers in your phone ahead of time so you always have them with you and if you are witnessing a dog fight in progress or about to happen IMMEDIATLY call 911. The time for dogfighting to end is NOW.
Dog fighting is one of the most heinous acts of violence and cruelty towards animals there is. It is NOT cultural, it is EVERYWHERE being done by people of all ages, ethnicities and tax brackets.
Animal abusers put us all at risk and make our communities unsafe. Animal abusers come in all forms; men, women, teens, veterinarians, school administrators, nurses and yes even multimillionaire pro athletes get arrested and convicted of dogfighting. Dogfighting happens in the country, in the city, in Uhauls, behind grocery stores, in basements, trails, trunks of cars…wherever they feel they won’t get caught and factually, people who abuse and kill animals will likely and most often times DO go onto commit crimes against humans.
